It had been a couple of weeks since last popping up to Amwell as at this time of year it is generally fairly quiet. A lone Redshank, pair of Little Ringed Plover and three male Red Crested Pochard were the main highlights but on the far bank a family of Foxes came down for a drink and some play fighting. Distant shots but wonderful to watch!
It looked like a Mother with three cubs. Further round the reserve a Sparrowhawk came down to a puddle in the track for a drink. It flew off, but returned and suitably concealed I managed to get a few shots.
Even on a quiet day, Amwell never disappoints!
